Families First Community Support Worker

Salary: Up to £18.5 per hour
Location: Runcorn

 

Connect2Halton is seeking compassionate and dedicated Families First Community Support Workers to join Halton Borough Council.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to children, young people and families across Halton. You will act as a key worker for a number of children and families, working in partnership with them, colleagues and other relevant professionals to identify needs and coordinate and implement individual care plans.

About the Role

As a Families First Community Support Worker, you will provide practical and personal support to children, young people and their families, helping them to achieve positive outcomes and ensuring their individual needs are met.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the creation, implementation and review of individual care plans for children, young people and their families.
  • Working directly with children, young people and families to support their assessed needs and promote positive outcomes.
  • Ensuring the personal care needs of children and young people are appropriately met.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with children, young people and families.
  • Working collaboratively with families, colleagues and other relevant professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate and effective records to support care planning and the preparation of reports.
  • Participating in the administration of the service within the team, centre and wider community.
  • Working flexibly, including out-of-hours where required, to meet the needs of the service.
  • Where appropriate, acting as a working supervisor for lower-graded staff to support the effective organisation and delivery of the service.

About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable and committed to supporting children, young people and families.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working in a similar community, family support, social care or children's services role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, young people, families and professionals.
  • A caring, patient and person-centred approach.
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours where required.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle, with appropriate business insurance.
