SEND Assessment Coordinator

Salary: Up to £280 per day
Location: Runcorn

 

Halton Borough Council is seeking an experienced SEND Assessment Coordinator to join our team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with SEND.

About the Role

You will play a key role in the assessment and coordination of EHCPs, ensuring statutory requirements are met and that high-quality outcomes are delivered for young people aged post-16. The role involves working closely with families, education providers, health professionals, and other agencies to coordinate complex case management and ensure personalised support is in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the SEND assessment process, particularly for post-16 learners.

  • Lead on complex case management, ensuring timely progression through statutory processes.

  • Liaise with schools, colleges, parents/carers, and partner agencies to secure the best outcomes for young people.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate casework records and reports.

  • Support the Council in meeting statutory obligations in relation to the SEND Code of Practice.

About You

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring expertise in SEND casework. You should have:

  • Proven experience in post-16 SEND and complex case management.

  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory assessment processes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with families and professionals.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
