Are you a skilled and enthusiastic technician looking to be part of a vibrant and creative team? The Brindley Theatre is seeking Casual Production Technicians to support the delivery of outstanding live events in our Theatre and Studio spaces.
Working closely with the Technical Manager, you will take the lead on specific technical elements of a production or performance. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a varied and exciting programme, working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide full technical support for performances and events.
Manage tools, technical, and stage equipment, ensuring safe use and proper storage.
Comply with all health and safety, fire safety, and statutory regulations.
Welcome and liaise with visiting companies, ensuring a safe and professional environment.
Take responsibility for the management and smooth running of performances in either the Theatre or Studio.
Supervise and manage casual crew members as required.
Attend rehearsals and production meetings to ensure technical requirements are met.
Ensure backstage areas are safely shut down post-event.
Support the Technical Manager or Production Assistant in delivering specific technical expertise.
Maintain accurate records and follow Council procedures and policies.
What We're Looking For:
Experience working in a technical theatre environment.
A strong understanding of sound, lighting, rigging or stage management.
Ability to lead on technical requirements of events.
A proactive and professional attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Commitment to health and safety and high work standards.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with the programme.
Additional Information:
Casual Technicians are guaranteed a minimum of 4 hours per event.
A minimum of 2 hours' notice will be provided if shifts are cancelled.
Uniform provided and must be worn at all times while on duty.
The role may include additional duties appropriate to the grade.
